Delete your account
You can delete your Haggel account yourself, any time, in the app or on the web. It can't be undone.
In short
- In the app: Account → Settings → Delete my account. On the web: Settings → Delete my account.
- Type DELETE to confirm. You're signed out everywhere straight away.
- Can't sign in? Email support@haggel.in from the email or phone number on your account, or contact us.
- We remove your profile, listings, photos and addresses. Order, payment and tax records stay as long as the law requires.
In the Haggel app
- Open the Account tab.
- Tap Settings.
- Tap Delete my account, type DELETE and tap Delete.
On haggel.in
If you can't sign in
Email support@haggel.in with the subject “Delete my account”, from the email or phone number on your account if you can, or send a request from Contact us. We may ask you to confirm it's your account, then delete it and reply within 30 days.
What's deleted
- Your profile: name, photo, bio and city.
- Your listings (taken down) and their photos, your sell drafts and your saved listings.
- Your saved addresses (one used for an order keeps only its city, state and PIN code with the order), notifications, blocks, notification settings and your devices for notifications.
- Open offers, deals and meet-ups are cancelled, and the other person is told.
- Your chats stay with the people you talked to, under “Deleted user”, never your name.
- Your sign-in: your phone number and Google account no longer open it. Signing in with them again starts a new, empty account.
What we keep, and for how long
Some records have to stay by law, even after you delete your account (Privacy notice):
- Your registration details (name, phone, email): 180 days, then removed.
- Orders, payments, refunds and payouts, with their tax records: 8 years (tax and accounting law).
- Seller payout details (PAN, bank account or UPI ID, and the verification document): as long as the tax law requires.
- Logs: 1 year. Reports and removed content: at least 180 days.
- App activity (never your messages): under an account number with no name or contact details.
When it can't be deleted yet
Deleting waits until money and orders are settled, so nobody loses out. You'll see one of these:
- You have an order in progress. You can delete your account once it's delivered or cancelled.
- A payment is still going through. Try again once it's finished.
- A refund is still on its way to you. You can delete your account once it's done.
- A problem with an order isn't decided yet. You can delete your account once it is.
- An order was delivered recently and the buyer can still report a problem. Try again once that time is up.
- A payout for one of your sales hasn't reached you yet. You can delete your account once it's paid.
- Money is still owed back for one of your sales. Contact us to settle it first.
